K-Patents Process Refractometers for Oil Refining and Petrochemical Industries
K-Patents provides Process Refractometers for accurate in-line refractive index measurements to improve refinery and petrochemical operations such as sulfuric acid alkylation, amine gas treaters, and lube oil production.

The purpose is to eliminate sampling, improve product consistency, reduce product waste and help to optimize the process. Uniform product quality and minimum waste can be achieved by continuous monitoring. Unlike periodical sampling, continuous monitoring can provide instant feedback as to changes in the process. This instant feedback can then be used to control the process in real-time.

PR-23-GP K-Patents Process Refractometer PR-23-GP
An all-purpose refractometer for large pipe and vessel installations. Installation through a flange or a clamp connection. Area classification Zone 2 (Class I, Div. 2); Intrinsically safe process refractometer PR-23-GP-IA Area classification Zone 0 and Zone 1.

PR-23-W K-Patents Saunders Body Refractometer PR-23-W
A saunders body refractometer for chemically aggressive liquids and solutions that corrode or foul metal parts. For pipe sizes of diameter 50, 80 or 100mm (2", 3" or 4"). Area classification Zone 2 (Class I, Div. 2); Intrinsically safe process refractomter PR-23-W-IA Area classification Zone 0 and Zone 1.

News, August 1, 2008 Key Aspects of Monitoring Acid Strenght in the Petroleum Refinery Alkylation Process. Owing to high gasoline prices and reformulated gasoline regulations, the refineries invest in additional alkylation capacity. There is a construction boom in new alkylation units and in smaller retrofit projects, such as in replacing radioactive nuclear and coriolis meters with K-Patents Process Refractometers.
