K-Patents Applications in Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Industries

Ascorbic acid: In the manufacture of Vitamin C
K-Patents Process Refractometer measures the concentration of Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) in water in the evaporation stage or in the end product. The refractometer provides in-line data to optimize evaporator efficiency and to control the quality of the final product. Typical range is 10-30% ascorbic acid in water.

Ca-arabonate: In the manufacture of Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
K-Patents Process Refractometer provides concentration measurement of Ca-arabonate/water in dissolving tank. K-Patents measurement can improve the production control and ensure that the Ca-arabonate concentration level is constantly the same before it enters the following production step. Typical measurement range is 10-50%.

Lactic acid, Lactulose
K-Patents Process Refractometer provides concentration measurement of Lactic acid in the manufacture process by fermentation of sugars. The refractometer measures the concentration of lactulose in water e.g. in evaporation and in crystallization to provide better control of the process and better quality of the end product. Typical range is 0-70%.

Monosodium Glutamate (MSG): C8H8NNaO4 · H2O
K-Patents Process Refractometer provides Brix measurement of Monosodium Glutamate in crystallizer by-pass line. The product is pumped through the heat exchanger continuously. The total density is measured and the outlet of pump starts to take the product out of the crystallizer. At the minimum level the crystallizer is fed with new product to get the supersaturation within tolerances again. Typical measurement range is 45-65 Brix.
